Night to Unite—hand out Deterra packets

Volunteers needed! Edina Rotary Club, along with the Edina Crime Prevention Fund, will be distributing Deterra packets during Night To Unite Tuesday, Aug, 7.

We are looking for volunteers to help with delivering the Deterra packets to several block parties throughout the Edina area beginning at 4:30 p.m. Volunteers will ride alone with Edina Police officers to visit parties and distribute the Deterra packets. We would love to visit block parties being held by our Rotarians! Please let us know if your neighborhood will be hosting an event. We'll share more details about the block party locations closer to Aug. 7.

You may remember hearing about and seeing Deterra packets at the Opioid Awareness Workshop our club hosted May 3. The Deterra packets render drugs inactive, giving people an easy way to dispose of drugs they do not need. A representative of Verde Technoglogies, who produces the packets, spoke at the workshop. After the workshop, our club gave the Edina Crime Prevention Fund a grant to purchase Deterra packets.
