The Rotary Club of Edina is once again collecting holiday gifts for families in need in our commun ity. Rotarian Jean Morrison is spearheading the Holiday Giving Program\, which will be donating to CornerStone and 66 West again this year. Member s are asked to bring UNWRAPPED gifts and gift cards for children of any a ge (infant all the way through teens) as well as gifts for moms\, dads\, and families served by CornerStone. This year\, gift cards to Macy's\, Ma rshalls\, Target\, Famous Footwear\, Torrid were also requested for the r esidetns at 66 West to buy clothing for job interviews. The donations can be dropped off at the Edina Country Club at the Dec. 5 and 12 Rotary mee tings or at the Holiday Party on Thursday\, Dec. 19. Cash or check donati ons are also welcome. Jean will take the funds donated and buy gift cards or other gifts to be donated as well. Here is some additional info abou t the organizations we are collecting for: • Cornerstone—works with famil ies and individuals affected by domestic violence\, sexual violence and h uman trafficking. Their Emergency Shelter provides a safe place to stay a nd basic needs for those who are in imminent danger of violence. As you c an imagine\, it is very difficult for families to be in shelter—and away from their extended families and friends—during the holidays. Your gifts to Cornerstone's clients helps make the season brighter for them because they know that our community cares and supports them • 66 West—provides homes for 39 suburban youth that have experienced homelessness. Rent is b ased on income and staff provide on-site support for education\, employme nt\, health\, and civic engagement and leadership. Gift cards to Macy's\, Marshalls\, Famous Footwear\, Target and Torrid will help 66 West reside nts purchase clothes for job interviews.
