DESCRIPTION:This is the first of several planned Rotary Club of Edina Prosp
 ective Member days during the upcoming Rotary year. As our way of thanking
  guests for attending\, they will receive their lunch for free. This oppo
 rtunity will allow them to check out our club\, our service projects and o
 ur unique fellowship environment all for just a little over an hour of the
 ir time. Seating is limited\, so register you and your guest as soon as po
 ssible.   Thursday's speaker will be Amber Backhaus\, Vice President of 
 Public Affairs\, MN Automobile Dealers Association Amber has over 20 years
  working as a government relations professional\, representing clients bef
 ore the Minnesota Legislature and state agencies.  Currently\, she leads 
 the advocacy efforts for the Minnesota Automobile Dealers Association (MAD
 A)\, a trade group representing Minnesota’s 370 franchised new car and t
 ruck dealers. Prior to joining MADA\, Amber worked in the government relat
 ions practice of Leonard\, Street & Deinard\, acting on behalf of high-pro
 file clients such as the Minnesota Timberwolves\, State Farm Insurance\, E
 xpress Scripts\, and Supervalu. She also served as the Director of Public 
 Affairs for the Minnesota Trucking Association.  In 2012-2013\, Amber was
  honored to be elected by her peers to serve two years as President of the
  Minnesota Government Relations Council and its 500 members. Amber lives i
 n Minneapolis with her husband and son and volunteers with the Crohn’s &
  Colitis Foundation\, where she serves as a National Trustee.
