July 8, 2024 — Rotary Club of Edina Past President Paul Peterson recently recognized a Rotarian for outstanding service to the club and community. Josh Sprague was named “Rotarian of the Year.”Sprague joined the club in 2008 and has been an active member since. “Josh is someone who embodies the Rotary spirit in everything he does,” Peterson said before presenting the award in late June. “A true champion of the Four-Way Test, he's a Past President, the driving force behind the Edina Car Show and a behind-the-scenes hero on the Guatemala mission trip. He even had the courage … to recruit me as your President. He leads with passion, handles the details most overlook and always goes above and beyond.” Read below for additional award update.
Jody Kern, a member since 2006, was named the club’s “Rock Star Funkraiser.” Kern helped secure sponsorships and make other arrangements for the Edina Rotary Foundation’s 2025 gala at Paisley Park in Chanhassen – the most successful fundraiser in the club’s history. “What a beautiful thing you did for our community, because with all that money you raised, we get to give it away,” Peterson said.Each received a plaque for their dedicated service during the 2024-2025 Rotary year, which ended June 30.
