Rotarians and their guests arriving for the meeting on the 21st were especially noisy and boisterous, maybe due the bright sunshine outside, or conversations while in line for the buffet lunch. Nevertheless, President Michael Stanzak brought the meeting to order with his usual over-the-top enthusiasm. Michael’s Member Spotlight included Scott MacDonald, Jennifer Bennerotte, Theresa Halverson, Tim Murphy, Kelley Burnett, Katy Campbell, Kaylin Eidsness, San Asato, and Stefan Smith. Rotary in the News included promotions for the Earth Day Clothing Exchange on April 23rd, the Arbor Day Tree Planting on May 6th, and the VEAP Volunteer Bag Packing Shift on May 4th. Michael complemented the Club on its good turnout for the joint meeting with the Edina Morningside Rotary Club on April 12th. He then shared the names of twelve Rotarians with birthdays in May, followed by another twelve celebrating their Rotary anniversaries in May.
