3rd Grade Literacy Volunteers Needed-May 11,13,18

The Rotary Club of Edina’s Youth Service Committee seeks volunteers for its third-grade literacy project. SIGN UP HERE.

As part of the project, Rotarians read the book Andy & Elmer’s Apple Dumpling Adventure to local students and discuss ethics with them. Andy & Elmer’s Apple Dumpling Adventure is the story of a young entrepreneur who starts an apple dumpling business. With the guidance of a mysterious voice conveying the Four-Way Test, he turns his venture into a wonderful success and makes friends along the way. May 9 - 13 Spring Fireside Chats - Registration Open
2022 Fireside chats are scheduled for May 9 to May 13.  Attend one or more -  REGISTER HERE These informal get-togethers are held in our member's home and attended by 10 to 20 Rotarians. During the chats, members get to know each other and about the club. Hosts typically provide appetizer and beverages, however, and while not required to attend, some hosts appreciate guests bringing and sharing treats and beverages. If you'd like to bring something, call ahead.  Chats typically run from 7:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. You may register for one or more chats HERE. Please join your fellow Rotary Club of Edina Rotarians and attend the Rotary Club of Edina vocational event scheduled for Thursday, May 26. Club members will meet in the ECC parking lot and take a coach bus to the Minneapolis Women's Club and learn about Involve MN and the work they are doing with Minneapolis/St. Paul's unsheltered. June 1 Avocation/Vocational Happy Hour
Edina Morningside member, Mark Hegstrom, helps business owners that are 3-12 years out from exit to develop a customized plan. His firm, Business Owner Succession Strategies (BOSS), assists the owner to develop a plan around the three legs of the exit planning stool: business owner financial plan, personal plan post-exit, and business attractiveness. Every business owner will exit his or her business. That is why he thinks: exit planning is simply good business planning. Please join us for this year-end meeting at CW's Bar and Restaurant, 8302 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, MN 55437  We will meet at 5:30 for happy half hour and our speaker presentation from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. This event is a casually centered around becoming better acquainted with the business and career lives of our fellow Edina Rotary Noon and Edina Morningside Rotary Club members. "Building An Inclusive Economy in Minnesota", Race & Equity Series with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis series will be sponsored by District 5950, Rotary Club of Edina, and the Federal Reserve of Minneapolis.  This mini-series will take place at Edina Country Club on June 2 and October 6, 2022, 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. It will opened as a district-wide event.  Event details and registration can be found HERE. Rotary Club of Edina's meeting fees cover the cost of this event and counts toward meeting attendance. Please register as an Edina Rotary Club Member. Senior actives and guests of members may register and pay online HERE. Cost is $20.00 for senior actives, guests, other Rotary club members and the public. Space is limited to 300 participants.

As of last Thursday, 60 of our 160 members have contributed to The Rotary Foundation. Team Jennifer has 28 of 80 members contributing for 35% participation and Team Jeff has 32 of 80 members contributing for 40% participation. So far, total contributions are at $68,502. Let's keep the momentum going!
