Volunteers welcome participants to the VEAP pantry, explain the process and respond to participant questions, keep the shopping area clean and tidy, sort through food donations, stock shelves, load groceries into vehicles and overall help VEAP promote a positive shopping experience for participants. On Wednesday, November 22nd members of the Rotary Club of Edina, along with members of the Edina Morningside Rotary Club, will pack baskets and deliver Thanksgiving meals to families in need throughout the Twin Cities region. This year we will be supporting Involve MN Winter Clothing Drive, My Very Own Bed Blanket and Bedding Drive, The Holiday Giving Program supporting 66 West, Good in the Hood, Young Parent Program, Simpson Housing Services and Edina Morningside Rotary and Edina Rotary Club, Thanksgiving Food Basket community outreach program and the Salvation Army Bell Ringers sessions. Involve MN and My Very Own Bed to Receive Donations
The Rotary Club of Edina has begun collections of goods for two area nonprofits, Involve MN and My Very Own Bed.
Involve MN provides for the unsheltered and vulnerable people of the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. The Rotary Club of Edina and the Edina Country Club are collecting new and gently used coats, hats, gloves and mittens. Ways for your to give and program details below.
The Rotary Club of Edina and Edina Morningside Rotary Club hosted Camp Enterprise this past weekend, Nov 2 to Nov 4 at Camp Courage-Maple Lake. This three-day camp for high school juniors and seniors is designed to introduce students to the free enterprise system and encourage entrepreneurship and ethical business practices. The experience is often life changing for this year's 88 junior and senior high school students who attended camp. These students who travel from western, north central, southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin are sponsored by their local Rotary club competing for five $1,000 college scholarships awarded at the final presentation on Saturday. Scholarships were earned by students sponsored by the Rotary Club of Alexandria, Lakeville, Gaylord, North St. Paul/Maplewood/Oakdale and Edina.
