TakeCharge strives to unite Americans regardless of background toward a shared history and common set of beliefs based on notion that the promise of America works for everyone regardless of race or social standing.  May 4 Special Avocation/Vocational HH with Key Cadillac
Register HERE for a special off-site Avocation-Vocational Happy Hour held at Key Cadillac on May 4 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The evening will start with a tour of the facility followed by a presentation and social time that includes food and drinks.  Key Cadillac is located at 6825 York Ave S, Edina. 952-920-4300  This event is casually centered around becoming better acquainted with the business and career lives of our fellow Edina Rotary Noon and Edina Morningside Rotary Club members. May 6 New Member Arbor Day Tree Planting
Help celebrate Arbor Day by participating with our new Rotary Club of Edina members in taking on the City of Edina's challenge of planting 200 trees in Rosland Park. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and we'll try to coordinate schedules to have as many Edina Rotarians together at the same time. 3rd Grade Literacy Volunteers Needed-May 11,13,18

The Rotary Club of Edina’s Youth Service Committee seeks volunteers for its third-grade literacy project. SIGN UP HERE.

As part of the project, Rotarians read the book Andy & Elmer’s Apple Dumpling Adventure to local students and discuss ethics with them. Andy & Elmer’s Apple Dumpling Adventure is the story of a young entrepreneur who starts an apple dumpling business. With the guidance of a mysterious voice conveying the Four-Way Test, he turns his venture into a wonderful success and makes friends along the way. May 9 - 13 Spring Fireside Chats - Registration Open
2022 Fireside chats are scheduled for May 9 to May 13.  Attend one or more -  REGISTER HERE These informal get-togethers are held in our member's home and attended by 10 to 20 Rotarians. During the chats, members get to know each other and about the club. Hosts typically provide appetizer and beverages, however, and while not required to attend, some hosts appreciate guests bringing and sharing treats and beverages. If you'd like to bring something, call ahead.  Chats typically run from 7:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. You may register for one or more chats HERE. Save the Date and Join Us for Progressive Dinner II Night!
Come join us on May 18, 2022 for an evening of fellowship, networking and gastronomy at three outstanding local, black-owned restaurants in Minneapolis and support our area’s Black entrepreneurs! This event is a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Edina and the North Minneapolis Rotary Club, and is open to members from both clubs, as well as family and guests. Cost is $75/person, which includes three courses (appetizer, entree and dessert), a special cocktail at Pimento, and all non-alcoholic beverages. Please invite a friend, colleague or Black business leader who you know to increase the networking portion of the event! Race and Equity Series to Begin June 2
Save the date for The Racism and the Economy series will be sponsored by District 5950, Rotary Club of Edina, and the Federal Reserve of Minneapolis, who is getting involved directly in selecting the program and speakers.  This min-series will take place at Edina Country Club on June 2 and October 6, 2022, 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. The will opened as a district-wide event. Stay tuned for details and registration.

    The meeting was called to order by the President, Michael Stanzak, to a large crowd of the best Rotary Club ever. Michael presented the member spotlights which included Lindsey Smaka, Josh Sprague, Tom Bach, Kayla Beehler, Shelly Loberg, Karlen Padayachee. Also, Michael provided a picture of those members visiting Escuintla Guatemala Hospital with an invitation to other members to visit and participate in Rotary projects such as the installation of water filtration plants.
