Due to additional student and parent guests. Seating and meal service may be limited this week. This week the Edina Rotary Global Scholars program, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Edina and the Edina Education Fund, is designed to help students develop global competency skills, prepare for a global career, develop understanding of world issues and learn to apply academic content to solve social and global issues.
To be a Rotary Global Scholar, a student must take coursework above and beyond graduation requirements, reach the highest level of a world language or already be fluent in a language other than English, be involved in activities of the Rotary Club of Edina, collaborate globally through travel or virtual experiences and complete a capstone course.
The first year of the program was 2021 with seven students earning the Rotary Global Scholar designation. Under the engaged and dedicated work of RCE member, Lindsey Smaka, this program grew to a graduating class of 36 students in 2025 and is anticipated to nearly double in size in 2026. Please join us to honor these bright future leaders of the world.

Friday, May 16, is the deadline for application submissions. The Rotary Club of Edina seeks nominees for the 19th-annual “Chrysanne Manoles Women In Leadership Award.”
Reflecting society in 1905, the Rotary organization was limited to male members and remained so officially until 1989. The forward-thinking Rotary Club of Edina welcomed its first female member, Chrysanne Manoles, a year earlier in 1988. Manoles continues to be active in Rotary. To celebrate the work of women in the community, the Rotary Club of Edina established an annual women’s leadership award in 2008.
Nominees cannot be current Rotarians and must live, work or volunteer in Edina. Female nominees must demonstrate Rotary’s “Four Way Test” of the things we think, say or do: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
To nominate a woman for the prestigious award, submit a simple form online. Applications must be submitted by Friday, May 16. The 2026 Chrysanne Manoles Women In Leadership Award will be announced at the May 28 meeting of the Rotary Club of Edina.
For more information about the Women in Leadership Award, contact Past President Jennifer Bennerotte, 612-201-3467 or jbennerotte@EdinaRotary.org. Click “Read More” to read the full-article.
We are short of volunteers. Even just one shift will help. Thank you.
