Tim Connelly is a member of the Lake Minnetonka-Excelsior (Morning) Rotary Club and a newly-minted ShelterBox Ambassador for District 5950. In his role as ShelterBox Ambassador, Tim travels the highways and byways of our district sharing the ShelterBox story with Rotary Clubs, churches, schools and community groups.
ShelterBox is the official, and only, project partner of Rotary International in disaster relief. They work to improve the physical and psychological well-being of families displaced by natural disaster and conflict. Warmth and dignity is offered to families left desperate and homeless. Through the provision of tented shelter and other lifesaving aid, families get back on their feet and regain a feeling of safety and security.

Join the Rotary Clubs of Edina and Edina Morningside in recognizing our veterans during our meeting on November 12. On Wednesday, November 25, members of the Rotary Club of Edina, along with members of the Edina Morningside Rotary Club, prepare and deliver Thanksgiving meals to families in need throughout the Twin Cities region. A roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberries, potatoes and gravy along with vegetables, oranges, even a delicious pie, make their way to area homes via active Rotarians and their families. With a side of warm knit mittens to help with the coming winter, these Thanksgiving Baskets bring some brightness and joy into the holiday season. Look for further details, your invitation to sign up and safety procedures delivered to your email this week. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, basket packing teams will be limited to no more than six people per team and a team captain should be assigned. Two different team captains (1 per station) may sign up for each 10 minute assembly period. Registration is now open for assembly times by clicking HERE. The Rotaract Club of Edina is sponsoring a light our community service project, "Lighting The Holiday Season" scheduled for Saturday, December 5th. This holiday light hanging service is looking for community member homes wanting to add some holiday light cheer but not climb the ladder. Shelter Box will receive any donations made for our service.
The Edina Rotary Global Scholars Program officially launched this fall at Edina High School. We are searching for internships and volunteer opportunities for students who are working on their Capstone research projects. Please read the seven students short biographies and research interests here.

Due to two different meeting platforms and the excellent talents of C-Vision Productions (Chris Laskowski) it has been decided to make better use of the taped and edited meetings that are posted to You Tube and use them as our new "In Review" format. This will eliminate the duty of "The Barker" note taker/writer and we will, for the time being, no longer publish written reviews. We will continue to publish several live meeting still photos with captions at the end of each newsletter as a mini-recap.

The ballroom doors open at 12:15 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 12:35 p.m. sharp.
