Serve Dinner with Rotary on Oct 23
DEADLINE TO SIGN UP--FRIDAY, OCT 17 - NEED 3 TO 4 MORE PEOPLE Register HERE.

On Wednesday, October 23, the Rotary Club of Edina has a wonderful opportunity to serve our neighbors in the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis. We’ll be helping at Augustana Lutheran Church and Community Emergency Services by setting up, serving a dinner meal to those in need, engaging with attendees, and cleaning up afterward.

Please arrive at Augustana by 4:30 PM and plan to stay until about 7:00 PM. There is parking on site and on nearby streets. If you wish to carpool from Edina Country Club, gather at 3:45 PM in the lot at the south end (the end farthest from the main entrance). Please let Don Hutchison know no later than October 21 if you wish to carpool (see below for Don’s contact information).

We are looking for 10–12 volunteers. This is a meaningful way to come alongside our neighbors and serve together as Rotarians. Register HERE.

If you’d like to be part of this great service project, please contact:

The Rotary Club of Edina’s Youth Service Committee seeks volunteers for its third-grade literacy project on Wednesday, Oct 29, 1:15 to 1:35.

As part of the project, Rotarians read the book Andy & Elmer’s Apple Dumpling Adventure to local students and discuss ethics with them. With the guidance of a mysterious voice conveying the Four-Way Test, he turns his venture into a wonderful success and makes friends along the way.

Eight Rotarian volunteers are needed to read the book to classes and distribute copies of the book to students. More information is below and you can sign up HERE.

Fall Fireside Chats Starting Schedule
The Rotary Club of Edina Fall Fireside Chat schedule has begun and is looking for two additional hosts. These small and casual social gatherings give experienced and freshman Rotarians the opportunity to get to know each other and learn about Rotary. Usually held in the host member's home as a come and go gathering, it's a nice way to conversationally and personally connect with your fellow Rotary friends. You're invited to attend all the scheduled chats or pick one that works best with your schedule. To allow the host to prepare, please register for each gathering you plan to attend. Let Julie Westbrock know if you any questions or would like to be added to this Fall Fireside host schedule.

To date the schedule is:
  • Wed., Oct 29, Time: 6 to 8 pm - Catherine Gump Home REGISTER
  • Mon., Nov 3, Time: 6 to 8 pm - Lisa Walker Home,  REGISTER

Join the Youth Exchange Committee Today!
The fundamental goal of a Rotary Youth Exchange committee is to foster international understanding, goodwill, and peace by allowing young people to immerse themselves in another culture, learn a new language, and develop lifelong leadership skills as global citizens. We are looking for Rotary Club of Edina members to collaborate with the Edina Morningside club as a committee with the goal of re-energizing and supporting this cross-cultural experience for high school-aged students. Please contact Edina Morningside member, Cathy Hogan or RCE Youth Services Director Brent Lundell for additional information. Learn more about Rotary International's Youth Exchange program HERE. We are planning to host a student(s) in the 2026-2027 school year and need members to join today.

From Sutton McGraw:
Thank you for your calls, and checking in. It really has been a hard time for me so the calls really helped. The flowers you sent were beautiful. I've missed all of you very much & look forward to my return. I so appreciate your friendship & generosity. Much love, Sutton

From Mary Swendsen:
When I came home from surgery at Mayo, I receive this beautiful, large and very colorful bouquet. It brightened our whole family room! I was so touched by Rotary's thoughtfulness. My surgery had been twelve hours long so I spent several days on the couch, letting my body heal. Seeing that bouquet each day, reminded me of how wonderful my friends at Rotary are! Thank you, Mary Swendsen

From Bravo Zulu House:
Rotary Club Foundation, Edina, MN -- Thank you again for your donation to hte Bravo Zulu House! The true work is beginning a the house. We thank you for your continual support. -- Ruth Cyphers - Advisory Board
