The primary requirement is a willingness to open your heart and home to an exchange student and accept him or her as your own. Family makeup is less important than a desire to host. At 6:30 p.m. on the lake promenade step back in time to watch strolling musicians with a Dixieland sound, a live organ grinder and magician, see model boats and Pennyfarthing bicycles, antique autos, and enjoy 25-cent ice cream cones, 5-cent balloons and more. At 8:30 p.m. is the Sousa Band Concert. Rotary gets a spotlight on stage as the show starts. Fireworks follow the concert.
