Mark boldly tells others, "Nothing compares to the way Rotary clubs serve others every day, both locally and globally."
He says that without a doubt, the leadership skills he has gained in his 30 years in Rotary have helped prepare him for several organizational roles and provided experiences that he uses daily in his career.

The Rotary Club of Edina Fall Fireside Chat schedule has begun and is looking for two additional hosts. These small and casual social gatherings give experienced and freshman Rotarians the opportunity to get to know each other and learn about Rotary. Usually held in the host member's home as a come and go gathering, it's a nice way to conversationally and personally connect with your fellow Rotary friends. You're invited to attend all the scheduled chats or pick one that works best with your schedule. To allow the host to prepare, please register for each gathering you plan to attend. Let Julie Westbrock know if you any questions or would like to be added to this Fall Fireside host schedule.
To date the schedule is:
Mon., Nov 3, Time: 6 to 8 pm - Lisa Walker Home, REGISTER
Tues., Nov 11, Tome 6 to 8 pm - Paul Mooty Home, REGISTER
Rotarian Lindsay Smaka is passing along a drive organized by one of our Global Scholars, Veda Laabs, who is also president of Model UN. This drive helps students who can't afford professional attire dress appropriately for competitions. Feel free to drop off at Edina High School's main office or with Lindsay at a Rotary meeting. See the message below!
Edina Model United Nations is holding a clothing drive for professional business attire. Our delegates are required to wear business attire to all conferences. In an effort to remove any barriers, we are holding a clothing drive to collect suits, collared shirts, ties, belts, shoes, pants, skirts, and anything else to pass on to our delegates who might need some clothes for our first conference on Friday, November 14.
We will be collecting clothes for the next TWO WEEKS (Deadline Nov 7), so please take some time to clean out those closets and drop them off .
The fundamental goal of a Rotary Youth Exchange committee is to foster international understanding, goodwill, and peace by allowing young people to immerse themselves in another culture, learn a new language, and develop lifelong leadership skills as global citizens. We are looking for Rotary Club of Edina members to collaborate with the Edina Morningside club as a committee with the goal of re-energizing and supporting this cross-cultural experience for high school-aged students. Please contact Edina Morningside member, Cathy Hogan or RCE Youth Services Director Brent Lundell for additional information. Learn more about Rotary International's Youth Exchange program HERE. We are planning to host a student(s) in the 2026-2027 school year and need members to join today.
DEADLINE for newsletter story and event submission is Monday at 5 pm. RCE Administrator, Becci Michalski, works part time (T-W-Th) and will respond to your inquiries as quickly as possible. Contact her at rmichalski@EdinaRotary.org.
