Dr. Sean Ewen of Wooden Hill Brewery to Speak Mar. 14
Sean Ewen is co-owner of the first brewery and taproom in the City of Edina, Wooden Hill Brewery. It began with Sean giving his brother, James, a homebrewing kit for his 21st birthday. This sparked a brotherly passion that grew into years of research to write and brew nearly a hundred unique beer recipes.
Along the way, James discovered one of his greatest joys in brewing is sharing his beer with others, so he partnered with Sean to bring his dream to reality.
"Up the Wooden Hill" is an expression our grandfather used to say when it was time to go upstairs to bed. This peculiar name for a staircase always stuck with us. Taking inspiration from family tradition and our grandfather's entrepreneurial spirit led us to name the brewery Wooden Hill and transformed a vacant 9,000 square foot warehouse into a production craft brewery and taproom. .
In Sean’s own words, “As an entrepreneur starting my third business, I love how the brewery combines crafting a product with serving the local community in the same space. With degrees in biology and medicine, I'm fascinated with the science of brewing and look forward to helping people learn more about this process.”
