The Rotary Club of Edina meets at 12:15 p.m. at the Edina Country Club. Cost for lunch is $18. All are welcome.

 

The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Craig Lamothe of Metro Transit at its meeting Thursday, July 31. Lamothe is acting project director of the Southwest LRT, the METRO Green Line Extension.

The two active projects in the region are the $957 million, recently opened Green Line (Central Corridor) light-rail project, connecting downtown St. Paul with downtown Minneapolis via the State Capitol and University of Minnesota. Second is the $1.65 billion Southwest light rail project connecting four southwest suburbs to downtown Minneapolis and the Central Corridor and Hiawatha LRT line.

Craig Lamothe is a planning graduate of the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. He has been with Metro Transit since 2004 serving in various positions in the Service Development, Engineering & Facilities and Transit Systems Development departments. Prior to joining Metro Transit, he worked for SRF Consulting Group. â€‹
