During the joint meeting of the Edina Morningside Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Edina April 7, Tech Dump held a free recycling event. Community members were encouraged to drop off their used electronics equipment at the Edina Country Club to be recycled, at the same time helping support Tech Dump, a non-profit helping economically disadvantaged adults to obtain marketable job skills. The event was an amazing success, filling the Tech Dump truck in only two hours!

The joint service project between the Edina Morningside Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Edina was a FANTASTIC success!

Rotarians and community members were encouraged to bring their used, unwanted electronics to the parking lot of the Edina Country Club on Tuesday morning, April 7, and recycle them for free with the help of Tech Dump. The event was held during the joint meeting of the two Edina Rotary clubs. The truck was even filled by 9 a.m., so anyone who came after that was directed to drop their items off at City Hall, and Tech Dump came and picked up those items later that day.

Amanda LaGrange, marketing director for Tech Dump commented, "Tech Dump is very grateful to partner with both Edina Rotary chapters. While recycling electronics isn't always the highest on the priority list, it's an important way to safeguard the environment and the Rotary helped make it more convenient with their event. In Tech Dump's case, we also use those unwanted gadgets to fund our employability training program for adults with barriers to employment."

Tech Dump, a division of Jobs Foundation, is a 501(c3) nonprofit providing stable jobs to economically disadvantaged adults to obtain marketable job skills as well as a pathway to self-sufficiency. Tech Dump works hard to:
• Protect the environment
• Provide secure, responsible and free electronic recycling
• Create reliable jobs that provide dignity and a pathway to independence for our program participants

Tech Dump recycling services are available for both homes and businesses and with certain items, they will offer you a free pick-up. When you recycle your electronics with Tech Dump, you are truly making the world a better place for all of us.

Special thanks to Rotarian Greg Yoch (shown in photo below on right), who helped organize the event for the Rotary clubs, and Jennifer Bennerotte, who offered her office at City Hall as a second drop-off after the Tech Dump truck was filled. Thanks to all who donated and made a difference in our community!
