Generous Rotarians make Holiday Giving Program a success

The Rotary Club of Edina collected gifts for families and individuals in need in our community this holiday season. Rotarian Jean Morrison, who spearheaded the Holiday Giving Program again this year, reports that the cash and gift donations were the most ever! VEAP and Oasis for Youth were the recipients of all the donations.
Again this year, the Rotary Club of Edina collected holiday gifts for families in need in our community. Rotarian Jean Morrison spearheaded the effort to get members to donate gifts or cash at three Rotary events in December. Jean reports that this year's Holiday Giving Program was an amazing success! Members donated $596 and 87 gifts, a record-setting year for giving for our Club! Ms. Santa was able to purchase many gift cards and special gifts with the money donated.
This year, the organizations benefiting from the Edina Rotary Holiday Giving Program are:
• VEAP—a non-profit, social service agency that assists low-income families in Bloomington, Edina, Richfield, and south Minneapolis.
• Oasis for Youth—a resource center for homeless that houses youth in Bloomington, Edina, and Richfield.
Ms. Santa would like to thank her elves—Jodie Jennings and Tom Pirsch—for helping with the bell ringing to collect gifts at meetings, and with delivery of the donations.
