The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Patty Peterson as the program speaker for the Thursday, Feb. 6, meeting. She will give a presentation titled "Live Your Gift."

Peterson was born into Minnesota’s First Famiy of Music, the Petersons. She is an award-winning singer and radio personality. On Feb. 12, 2007, she thought she might never sing again. While driving her car home after a long day, she felt a burst in her chest and called 911. The ER doctor treated her for a heart attack but later found out that she had something very serious called Aortic Dissection. She was in emergency open-heart surgery for seven hours, a surgery only 1 percent of people survive. Well, she did, and not only is she singing again, she is speaking and singing to people about heart and aortic health awareness and reminding them to do one thing in this lifetime, and that is to "Live Your Gift."

Patty Peterson is the sister of Rotary Club of Edina member Paul Peterson.
