The Rotary Club of Edina will have a Prospective Member Day at its meeting Thursday, Oct. 30. All Rotarians are encouraged to bring friends or colleagues that are interested in learning more about Rotary and our Club. We are especially encouraging members to bring female prospective members to this meeting. We will also be having a special appreciation for our female Rotarians that day, so please plan to attend! Lunch is on the Club for prospective members Oct. 30!

The program speaker for the meeting will be Amy Nelson, founder and CEO of Accurate Home Care. Her commitment to helping people disabilities led her to start her own home health care business at 18, which now employs more than 3,000 people. She is also passionate about supporting The Miracle League, where children with disabilities have the opportunity to play baseball.

The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome prospective members to its meeting Thursday, Oct. 30, as well as program speaker Amy Nelson. Nelson is the founder and CEO of Accurate Home Care.

At the age of 18, Nelson founded Accurate Home Care to provide families with an agency which had compassion and integrity as well as delivered exceptional quality and personal service to its clients, families and employees. Just over 12 years later, the company now employs over 3,000 individuals and services Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa.

Always wanting to give back to the communities she serviced, she discovered The Miracle League, where children with disabilities ages 3 to 19 have the opportunity to play baseball. Every child gets to bat the ball and run the bases. From the moment Amy stepped foot on the field and found her player for the game, she was hooked. From buddy to coach, Amy's passion for The Miracle League continues today. The joy and excitement on the faces of these children made her a true believer that you really can Turn Disabilities into Possibilities!

Amy and her husband, Jared, along with their two children, Kate and Dean, live in Elk River, MN. As a family, they enjoy spending time at the cabin, family fishing trips, traveling, cooking and singing karaoke! Amy has her bachelor's degree in Health Care Management and her MBA from Minnesota School of Business.
