MEETING LOCATION - The District Edina!! Next Vocation/Avocation Happy Hour is Wednesday, Sept 6, 2023.  5:30 to 7:00 p.m. meet and greet. Our speaker will be Jack Lee, Executive Director of Voyageur Outward Bound School. VOBS is a non-profit using wilderness trips to help people see their true potential for character, leadership and service. Jack is a member of the Edina Morningside Rotary club. Jack Lee is proud to be the Executive Director of Voyageur Outward Bound School.
 
He has a varied background that includes leadership positions in both business and non profit organizations.  After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 1987, he worked in commercial banking in Cincinnati, received an MBA from the University of Michigan, and spent nine years out West with Intel Corporation, working with everything from an internet start up to a manufacturing plant to a $2.5 billion factory construction project. 
In 2002, he made a career change from business to non profit – moving back to the Twin Cities and spent 10 years as the President of Youth Frontiers, a non profit organization who partners with schools to improve school climate, reaching more than 100,000 students annually.
 
Jack joined Voyageur Outward Bound School – which uses wilderness trips to help people see their true potential for character, leadership and service -- as its Executive Director in 2012.
 
Jack is a member of the Edina Morningside Rotary – and both of his daughters have done year long Rotary youth exchange programs (one in South Korea, one in India) -- and is he active at the Basilica of St Mary and has enjoyed the 48 states he’s road tripped through with his wife, Laura, and their three children, Elisabeth (age 27) in Sweden, Catherine (25) in New York and Timothy (11) in 6th grade in Edina.
