Steve Slyce was recently inducted as the new President of Rotary Club of Edina. He will serve as President for the 2013-2014 Rotary year.

Steve Slyce was recently inducted as President of the Rotary Club of Edina.

 

Rotary International begins its fiscal year July 1. At a year-end meeting June 27, the Rotary Club of Edina’s officers and committee leaders were introduced. Officers include Slyce, President-Elect Jeff Ohe, Treasurer Jennifer Bennerotte, Secretary Ann Platt and Past-President Scott MacDonald. Members of the Board of Directors are Tom Bach, Heather Hansen, Mike Kallas, Marty Kupper, Doug Johnson, Michael Stanzak, Mary Hustad, John Flynn, and Will Steinke.  The Club Administrator is Jennifer Garske

 

Slyce is the Manager at Peters Billards and has been with the company 37 years.  Peters Billiards is a retailer of pool tables and related game room products as well as patio furniture, kitchen, and bar stools, leather seating with a retail store in Minneapolis and a Distribution Center in Edina.  He currently serves on two industry suppliers dealer advisory boards.

 

Slyce has been a member of Edina Rotary since 2001.  He has chaired or co-chaired the Rotary annual fundraising event, Model UN, annual picnic, and the Rotary Foundation Fun Drive.

 

Slyce shares that “Belonging to Rotary enables me to help make a difference in both World Wide issues like eradicating Polio and the many at home issues like literacy and education.  Also, the many members that I have made lifelong friendships with are a very valuable part.”

 

Among his many Rotary highlights, he lists attending the Rotary International Convention in Lisbon, Portugal this past June.  He met many Rotarians from around the world who are so dedicated to making the world a better place.

 

Slyce and his wife, Nancy, have been married for 28 years and have two daughters, Alison 26, and Katherine 23.  They reside in Excelsior.
