Please join us for our Sept. 19 meeting, where the guest speaker will be Thom Olson, a Minnesota native and teacher at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, and executive director of FreedomWorks Reentry and Aftercare in North Minneapolis.

New member Jim Brindley will also give his classification talk at the meeting. And we will have the induction ceremony for our newest member, Sonja Tengdin.
 

The guest speaker at our Sept. 19 Rotary meeting will be Thom Olson, executive director of FreedomWorks in North Minneapolis.

Olson teaches criminal justice and psychology at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul and serves as executive director of FreedomWorks Reentry & Aftercare in North Minneapolis.

FreedomWorks is a faith-based, nonprofit organization serving male former offenders and their families by providing a residential facility where they can find fellowship, mentoring, housing, clothing, employment, transportation, and counseling.

 

Olson was born and raised in Becker, Minnesota, and is now married with two girls. He has a BS in Psychology and Political Science from Liberty University in Virginia and Master’s of Divinity Degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has been the artistic director for Trinity House Theatre in Detroit, Youth Counselor at the St Cloud Children’s Home, and addiction and recovery counselor at the InnerChange Freedom Initiative at the Lino Lakes Prison.
