The Rotary Club of Edina supports two non-profit foundations.  Every member is encouraged to support both foundations every year.  The dollar amount of your gift is not the most important thing, but that you participate at some level — Every Rotarian Every Year, whatever is right for you.  Rotary runs on a fiscal calendar July 1 to June 30th.

Edina Rotary Foundation:  Fundraising for this foundation is typically concentrated around our Annual Fundraiser & Gala held in the fall of each year.  The Edina Rotary Foundation supports local programs, including Feed My Starving Children, Camp Enterprise and VEAP.  The Edina Rotary Foundation also funds grants for local and international projects.  If certain Rotary International requirements are met, some of these grants can be matched with Rotary Foundation funds from our district or Rotary International.  In this way, we can successfully leverage our donor's funds to do more significant projects that have more impact.

The Rotary Foundation:  Participation in The Rotary Foundation is typically promoted in the spring of each year.  Its mission is “ to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty.”  The Rotary Foundation supports projects and grants within its six areas of focus including: Promoting Peace;  Fighting Disease; Providing Clean Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; Saving Mothers and Children; Supporting Education; and Growing Local Economies.  The Rotary Foundation also leads the charge on worldwide campaigns such as eradicating polio, PolioPlus. Monies given to PolioPlus are matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation 2 to 1.  The Rotary Foundation has consistently received the highest rating — four stars — from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities in the U.S.  The integrity of the Foundation is extremely high!
