The Rotary Club of Edina, along with support of Rotary District 5950 and several area Rotary Clubs, will host a Opioid Awareness Workshop this Thursday, May 3, at the Edina Country Club. 

Edina Rotary members were encouraged to register themselves and any guests. Registration for the workshop closed April 27. If you would like to attend but did not register, please contact Josh Sprague or Jennifer Garske. 

Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. Check-in begins at 11 a.m. Cost for the event is the same as a regular Rotary Club of Edina meeting: Senior Active and Honorary members pay $20 at the door, as do any guests. Regular members have already paid for the meal on their quarterly invoice. 

The sponsoring clubs for the event are Bloomington, Buffalo, Eden Prairie Noon, Edina, North Minneapolis and Rogers. Guests should have registered online on our website, and will pay at the door. All registrations are final April 27.

The workshop takes the place of the regular Rotary Club of Edina meeting that day.

• 12:15—12:30 p.m.—Treatment and Intervention Options, featuring Dr. Stephen Delisi of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation
• 12:30–12:45 p.m.—Prescription Guidelines and Pain Management Options, by Dr. Peter Stiles of TRIA
​• 12:45–12:55 p.m.—Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Demonstration by Rich Stanek, Hennepin County Sheriff 
• 12:55–1:05 p.m.—Cutting the Supply: Safe Disposal of Unused Opioids, by Rob Reynolds of Verde Technologies
• 1:05–1:25 p.m.—Panel Discussion and Questions
• 1:25–1:30 p.m.—Closing Remarks

This event takes the place of the regular Rotary meeting that day.
