The Rotary Club of Edina had seven members taking part in the 2025 International Service trip to Coban, Guatemala. The service trip will ran April 26 through May 3 and included visits to Guatemala City, Coban, Escuintla and Antigua. Much of this trip was documented through photos and comments on the club's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/EdinaRotary. Here's a You Tube video message in the field from President Paul Peterson: https://youtu.be/o95D25oDM-U
The service portion of the trip will took place in Coban, where our team, along with the Rotary Club of Coban and The Church of St. Patrick of Edina, delivered 651 water filtration units to scattered villages in the remote mountainous region surrounding Coban. The filters were funded through a grant of $29,000 our club sponsored and funded in partnership with Rotary District 5950 and the Rotary clubs of Buffalo, Lakeville, Maple Grove, Edina Morningside, and Saint Paul.
In addition to the Coban water project, they also visited and celebrated the progress of the water and sanitation projects within Escuintla Hospital. All these projects were spearheaded and facilitate by our club.
