Daniel Pollock was appointed in December 2014 to be Deputy Commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Health, a 1,600-employee state agency with a $600 million annual budget and responsibility for all public health activities in the state. He directly manages the Office of Legislative Relations, the Communications Office, and the Legal Unit. Pollock also works closely on program operations with all four of the agency's Assistant Commissioners.

Pollock is a licensed attorney with more than a decade of experience in improving Minnesota's public health and health care systems and has served in both the legislative and executive branches of state government. Pollock earned a bachelor's degree in government from Dartmouth College (thanks, in part, to a Rotary Club scholarship) and his law degree from Georgetown University Law. Center.
