Another smashing meeting was held today.  I missed last meeting due to illness and was glad to be back.  Our own Paul Mooty, with scheduling help from Marty Kupper, did a fine job officiating from the podium - filling in for our absent leader.

Today we recognized Mike and Jullene Kallas as our newest Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation.  They were joined by their lovely daughter Angie McGuire and granddaughter Lille.  Mike, with Lille in his arms delivered a strong reminder of why they have and continue to consistently support The Rotary Foundation.  It is all about the joy of giving - giving to a very effective effort that is helping to build a better future for our world and will continue to do so for generations.  Thank you again to Mike and Jullene Kallas.
Today we learned a little more about a newer member Scott Blake who gave his classification talk.  Growing up in Edina to college at Miami of Ohio, waiting tables at a Chinese restaurant, law school and marrying his beautiful wife Trisha . . . Scott now practices law here in town and is the dad of 3 wonderful kids.  Well done Scott - we are very fortunate to have you a part of our community.

At the end of our meeting Paul reminded us of the quote attributed to Henry Ford: “If you think you can, you can.  And if you think you can't, you're right.”  Our speaker today reminded us “to think you can.”

Sean Ewen recognized the entrepreneur bug early and after med school within a strong community of honest and supportive family and friends stepped away from the traditional path - and “got up the wooden hill.”  After staring two successful businesses during school (Allied Medical Training and IT Physicians) Sean with his brother and wife is now running the first brew pub in Edina.  He even brought us samples of the beers they brew and that ovation alone received rave reviews.  We recommend a visit - for details on location, hours and menu do visit their web site, Wooden Hill Brewing and on Facebook.
