The second of our biannual off-site vocational experiences will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the South Metro Training Facility in Edina. The meeting will begin at 12:35 p.m. in one of the facilities training rooms with a box lunch and program followed by a tour of the facility. The South Metro Public Safety Training Facility operates under a joint powers agreement between the Cities of Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, and the Metropolitan Airports Commission and is a state-of-the-art firefighting and law enforcement training facility. Additionally, it provides general public access to firing range for the purpose of practicing safe and proficient firearms handling.

Facilities include classrooms, tactical gym, two gun ranges, and a live fire training tower, etc. Courses include MN POST Board accredited classes, investigation techniques, train the trainer classes, firearms instruction, etc. It is their mission to provide high quality, cost effective training and development for public safety organizations through shared resources to ensure premier public safety services to our communities.
