The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Mark Irving as program speaker Thursday, Aug. 2. Irving was a professional jockey for 20 years. He has a new role as Racing Ambassador for Canterbury Park.

Irving began working with horses at a very young age. He started riding in Europe with over 200 wins. During his career he had over 600 wins in the United States. He was the leading turf rider at Canterbury Park.

Irving also finds replacement homes for retired thoroughbreds.

He has a new role as Racing Ambassador for Canterbury Park. This consists of hosting corporate events and speaking about my experiences as a professional jockey, booking private events for corporate meetings, company picnics and social gatherings.
