Karl grew up within a family that valued hard work and a can-do attitude as two important instruments in the toolbox of life. He has implemented lessons learned from his family to his real passion, small business. For the last 20 years, he has been the co-owner of Cooks of Crocus Hill. Cooks is a brand driven, independent specialty culinary retailer and educator grounded in the belief that Life Happens in the Kitchen. In addition to a myriad of "Best of" Award designations, Cooks has been the recipient of the Global Innovator Award from the International Housewares Association.
In 2020, Karl and Marie Dwyer partnered with Gavin Kaysen of Soigne Hospitality to bring a recognized bakery into the mix at Cooks of Crocus Hill. Cooks I Bellecour is a joyful and totally unique entity offering bakery items, cooking classes and cookware that was born from the shared values of hospitality, a passion for cooking and a strong sense of community.
For more than 25 years, Karl has been engaged in various positions of business ownership, sales, marketing and organizational development. He leads team development, business growth, and internal and external relationships, all with the goal of creating and delivering thoughtful and energized brand experiences. He has worked on a variety of branding projects with domestic and international companies including Target, Marshall Fields, Health Partners, The Mayo Clinic, Zwilling/Staub and Mauviel.
