Our Edina Club Rotaract group joined the March Emerging Leaders Wednesday, March 13 at LIV Chiropractic to prepare sandwiches for "The Sandwich Man's" homeless outreach program. Last year, Allan Law distributed over 800,000 sandwiches to the approximately 4,000 homeless and people in need. With the exception of sandwich making, Mr. Law does much of the distribution work alone, cat napping in his van and working 20-hour days. He also distributes bus tokens, hygiene products, winter wear, socks and blankets. Mr. Law personally joined us during our packing session and it was an honor to become a part of his story and mission. For a better understanding of Mr. Law’s dedication and program click “More” and watch the video.

Rotaract brings together adults ages 18 to 30 to take action in their communities, develop their leadership and professional skills, and have fun. The Rotary Clubs of Edina and Edina Morningside sponsor the new Rotaract Club of Edina, but Rotaract members will manage its club independently. After this special event, the next meeting of the Rotaract Club of Edina will be Thursday, Mar. 28, at The Mezz in Lunds & Byerlys on France Avenue in Edina. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. Usually meetings will be held at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. Each meeting will feature a speaker and focus on service projects in alignment with Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self.”
