The Rotary Club of Edina recently presented three scholarships to deserving students at Edina High School.

The Rotary Club of Edina presents $1,500 scholarships to graduating Edina seniors who exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” and have participated in Rotary programs such as Camp Enterprise, Camp RYLA, fall ethics seminar, Vocational Ethics Day, youth exchange, Edina Rotary Global Scholars or the Interact Club of Edina. This year’s scholarships were presented to Abid Hassan (pictured) and Elodie Jones. The Rotary Club of Edina also provides a $1,000 renewable scholarship to a graduating senior who is completing the Edina Rotary Global Scholars program. Rowan Ungerman (pictured) received that scholarship.
Hasan is involved in the Edina Rotary Global Scholars program, as well as the Interact Club of Edina. He lettered in Model UN for four years and was a member of its leadership team. He also earned letters on the boys tennis team and for community service. Hasan is a National Merit Commended student and plans to study History at Washington University in St. Louis.

Jones is an Edina Rotary Global Scholar and participated in Camp Enterprise and the Interact Club of Edina. In high school, she participated in DECA, Hornet Mentors, Women Founders Network and the Finance and Investing Club. She owns her own small business, ElodieBirdCo. Jones plans to attend the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

The Rotary Club of Edina also provides a $1,000 renewable scholarship to a graduating senior who is completing the Edina Rotary Global Scholars program. Rowan Ungerman received that scholarship. She is also involved in the Interact Club of Edina and a letter winner in Concert Orchestra, girls swimming and diving and community service. She is the school’s first-chair cellist and participates in Women of STEM. Ungerman plans to attend the University of St. Thomas and study Exercise Science.
