The Rotary Club of Edina recently presented three scholarships to deserving students at Edina High School.
The Rotary Club of Edina presents $2,000 scholarships to graduating Edina seniors who exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” and have participated in Rotary programs such as Camp Enterprise, Camp RYLA, youth exchange, Edina Rotary Global Scholars or the Interact Club of Edina. Jancourt participated in a youth exchange program in 2023 and recently joined the Interact Club of Edina. She was involved in the Edina Rotary Global Scholars program throughout high school.
Hoffmann participated in Camp Enterprise in 2025 and recently joined the Interact Club of Edina. She was involved in the Edina Rotary Global Scholars program throughout high school. “Whether I choose to pursue a career in law, business or politics, my experiences with the Rotary have equipped me with the skills necessary to take on any challenges I face, leave a meaningful impact on the world and my community and enable me to thrive as a leader and changemaker,” she wrote in her scholarship essay.
The Rotary Club of Edina also provides a $1,000 renewable scholarship to a graduating senior who is completing the Edina Rotary Global Scholars program. Pranika Kumar received that scholarship. She has been involved in both the Interact Club of Edina and the Edina Rotary Global Scholars program throughout high school.
“To me, [Rotary’s motto of] ‘Service Above Self’ means showing up when no one is watching and giving without the expectation of anything in return,” she wrote in her essay. “It’s about recognizing the need and deciding that the effort to fix it – even at a personal cost – is worth it because the cause is bigger than myself. … I’ve learned that service is most powerful when it honors the humanity of the person being served. My goal is to continue this work, ensuring that as we tackle big, systemic issues, we never lose sight of the small, human details that actually matter. Service isn’t just about the work. Rather, it’s about the person on the other end of that work, and ensuring they know they are not alone.”
The scholarships were presented by Youth Service Director Brent Lundell May 22 at a local scholarship breakfast organized by the Edina Education Fund.
