“ The Guatemala Experience” - Starting in 2019, Josh Sprague began to lead water mission trips into the heart of Guatemala with members of the Rotary Club of Edina and other Rotarians from around the region. The trips have deepened the club’s ties to Guatemala and led to a variety of other service projects, grants, and relationships. Click below to read Josh;s biography.Josh Sprague is a full-service luxury real estate agent with Lakes Sotheby’s International Realty in Edina, Minnesota, Josh started his career in real estate in 2000 and has represented hundreds of clients in the Edina, Minneapolis, and South and West Metro markets. Josh moved to Edina in 2006 with his newlywed wife, Kelly, when they stumbled across a great 5 bedroom home across from Arneson Acres Park. They decided to fill up all 5 bedrooms as quickly as possible, and welcomed baby Charlie in 2006, Johnny in 2007, Kelly in 2008, and Nick in 2009. Josh started his involvement in the Edina community immediately after moving here, and he joined the Southdale YMCA board in 2006 It was on that board that he met Sandy Schley, who one day invited him to lunch at the Rotary Club of Edina. The rest is history!
Josh has served in a variety of positions in the club, including Student Speaker Chair, Community Service Grants Member, Ethics Seminar Mentor, Camp Enterprise Venture Capitalist, Rotary Rocks the Y Chair, Camp RYLA Chair, Interact Club Founder and Chair, Gala Co-Chair, Membership Chair, Edina Car Show Founder and Chair, Edina Rotary Global Scholars Founder and Chair, Edina Rotary Club and Foundation Board Officer, and most recently, Club President for the 2019-20 Rotary Year. Josh’s children have also grown up in the club, and they have participated in many Rotary service activities and events.
Josh grew up in Minneapolis where he attended Blake Schools and Minnehaha Academy. He earned his B.A. from Bowdoin College in Maine, and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in New York. He also studied and lived abroad in Europe, and speaks both French and Italian fluently. In addition to his Rotary work, Sprague has served on the Edina City Council, and has volunteered for the Edina Chamber of Commerce, Edina Education Fund, Edina Public Schools, and Edina Hockey Association.
