Jennifer Bennerotte, Jody Kern and Kip Peterson have been named the Rotary Club of Edina’s “Rotarians of the Year.” Club President John Flynn presented the awards at the Community Volunteer Recognition Reception Monday, April 15.
The trio planned the annual fundraiser for the Edina Rotary Foundation, raising more money for local and international service projects and grants than any other year. Each has also served on the club’s Board of Directors. For many years, Kern and Peterson have been instrumental in planning the club’s largest service project, Camp Enterprise for high school juniors and seniors interested in the free enterprise system. Bennerotte is one of the longest-serving members of the club’s Public Image Committee and recently helped find suitable candidates for the club’s Administrator position.
Other current members of the club who have been honored as Rotarians of the Year in the past include Wooj Byun, Flynn, Doug Johnson, Gordy Lewis, Marty Kupper, Jean Morrison, Tim Murphy, Jeff Ohe, Gary Pedersen, Ann Platt, Sandy Schley, Josh Sprague, Nate Wenner and Mary Younggren.
