The picnic will take the place of our June 1 noon Rotary meeting. This is a catered event and registration closed Friday, May 26. Please call Kayla Beehler with cancellation info or to be added to a post-deadline waiting list.
June 3 -- Service Project - JCS Affective Living
 SIX VOLUNTEERS NEEDED -- REGISTER HERE -- Two more volunteers needed. Can't spend the whole day? Just a couple hours would be very helpful. JCS operates two safe residence homes for formerly trafficked women.  This is a joint service project with the Edina Federated Women's Club. Volunteers will  begin work at 9:00 am to seed and fertilize the yard, plant flowers, shrubs, and trees at one of the homes located at 5017 Washburn Ave N, Minneapolis 55430 (15 minute drive North 100 from Edina City Hall).  8-10 Rotary members are needed.
Sam and Ivo Exchange Student Farewell Party
Tuesday, June 6 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m, Edina Rotary and Edina Morningside Youth Exchange students, Ivo and Sam, will have a farewell party at Davanni's-Edina. Stop by and wish them safe return travels and best of luck.
June 7, Vocation/Avocation Happy Hour
MEETING LOCATION - The District Edina!! Next Vocation/Avocation Happy Hour is Wednesday, June 7, 2023.  5:30 to 7:00 p.m. including a BBQ (weather permitting) on the District patio.  You will have the opportunity to meet and greet Betsy Kumagai, Executive Director, A Better Chance. Betsy will be introducing and showcasing Edina ABC program and updating us on program graduate, Jerimiah who is a recent addition to the Edina Police Department. FREE Shred Event, June 10
On Saturday, June 10, 2023, 9 am to Noon, fellow Rotarian John Mazzara is sponsoring a  FREE Shed Event in the parking lot of Re/Max at 7700 France Ave S.  Bring your paper documents only for disposal. Please feel free to invite a friend, a large truck has been ordered. Go to the South side of the Building and look for the inflatable Re/Max Balloon and ShredIt truck. TRF Challenge Make It the Best Week Ever!
Catherine is attending Rotary International Conference in Melbourne, let's surprise her with a huge jump in participation.  This year there is a challenge between The Rotary Club of Edina and Edina Morningside Rotary Club to see which club will get the highest percentage of members to donate $25 or more to The Rotary Foundation. June 14 District Governor Installation
Wednesday, June 14, 2023, Jewelie Grape, will be installed as Rotary District 5950 District Governor. REGISTER HERE. This event will take place and celebrated via a river cruise on the Mississippi River from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Leaving Bohemian Flats, 2150 West River Parkway, Minneapolis. Cost is $25.00 per person with tropical appetizers and a drink ticket. Cash bar will be available.

26 Set to Graduate as Rotary Global Scholars
Twenty-six students are set to graduate from Edina High School as Rotary Global Scholars.
The Rotary Global Scholars program, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Edina and the Edina Education Fund, was designed to help students develop global competency skills, prepare for a global career, develop understanding of world issues and learn to apply academic content to solve social and global issues.
Edina Rotary Awards EHS Scholarships
The Rotary Club of Edina recently presented three scholarships to deserving students at Edina High School.
The Rotary Club of Edina presents $1,500 scholarships to graduating Edina seniors who exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” and have participated in Rotary programs such as Camp Enterprise, Camp RYLA, fall ethics seminar, Vocational Ethics Day, youth exchange, Edina Rotary Global Scholars or the Interact Club of Edina. This year’s scholarships were presented to Abid Hassan (pictured) and Elodie Jones. The Rotary Club of Edina also provides a $1,000 renewable scholarship to a graduating senior who is completing the Edina Rotary Global Scholars program. Rowan Ungerman (pictured) received that scholarship.
Osborne Receives Women in Leadership Award
The Rotary Club of Edina recently presented Diane Osborne with its 2023 Chrysanne Manoles Women In Leadership Award.
Osborne is the Nurse Manager of the Intensive Care Unit at Fairview Southdale Hospital. When she was hired in 2016, there was no formal program in place to honor organ donors or their families. In her first year, the Fairview Southdale ICU cared for two organ donors who went on to save three lives. By 2018, they had five donors who saved 12 lives. Many more details follow in "Read More"
Tanzania Villagers See Improved Eye Care with $20,000 Rotary Club Project
Thousands of children and adults in remote villages of Tanzania will see a brighter future with improved access to medical eye care examinations, screenings and provision of prescription eyeglasses, thanks to a $20,000 humanitarian grant project sponsored by the Rotary Club of Edina with support of local clubs in Rotary District 5950, Dodoma (Tanzania) Rotary Club and Tanzania Health Partners.
