Lyndel King has a Ph.D. in art history and more than 40 years of museum experience. She was the director and chief curator at the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota from 1981 until 2020.  King was instrumental in securing funding to build a new art museum and selecting Frank O. Gehry as the architect. The Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum (WAM) opened In 1993 with an addition to the museum opening in 2011. Her topic: Who are? What Are We For?  Art Museums—We Walk the Line.
