The Rotary Club of Edina supports two non-profit foundations.  Every member is encouraged to support both foundations every year.  The dollar amount of your gift is not the most important thing, but that you participate at some level — Every Rotarian Every Year, whatever is right for you.  Rotary runs on a fiscal calendar July 1 to June 30th.
Edina Rotary Foundation:  Fundraising for this foundation is typically concentrated around our annual Gala Dinner event held in the fall.  Click HERE for more on our 2018 event "Rotary's Got Talent!” which was held on September 28th.  The Edina Rotary Foundation supports local programs, including Feed My Starving Children, Camp Enterprise and VEAP.
This foundation also funds grants for local and international projects.  If certain RI requirements are met - some of these grants are then matched with Rotary Foundation funds from our district or Rotary International.
The Rotary Foundation:  Participation in The Rotary Foundation is typically promoted from November to June of the following year.  Its mission is “to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty.”
The Rotary Foundation's 6 areas of focus are Peace and conflict prevention/resolution, Disease prevention and treatment, Water and sanitation, Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy, and Economic and community development.
For the 10th consecutive year, The Rotary Foundation has received the highest rating — four stars — from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities in the U.S.
The Rotary Foundation also leads the charge of worldwide campaigns such as eradicating polio, PolioPlus.  Monies given to PolioPlus are matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation 2 to 1.
The predominant funds supported by our membership are PolioPlus and the Annual SHARE Fund.  Monies given to the Annual SHARE Fund are invested and after 3 years half of our districts giving comes back to our district where we manage its distribution.  Clubs and districts can apply for and receive Rotary Foundation grants to carry out worthy projects worldwide or locally.
