Donate those old eye glasses! Edina Morningside Rotary Club member Afira Hasan has a contact who will soon be visiting Pakistan to deliver donated eye glasses. If you have any old eye glasses sitting around the house, please consider bringing them to either the December 9th or December 16th Holiday Cocktail Party.Twenty million people in Pakistan are either blind or have impaired vision, of those 3 million are children. The Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust (LRBT) was established in 1984 with the goal of treating curable blindness and visual impairment by providing high quality FREE eye surgery and ophthalmic care for those who cannot afford treatment. Through a network of 19 hospitals, 55 clinics, mobile units, outreach centers and screening camps, over 47 million patients have been treated.
