Each year, the Rotary Club of Edina raises money at the Edina Car Show and a fall fundraiser to support its projects and award grants. Each year, about $100,000 is raised for the Club’s service projects and local and international grants.
Applicants seeking $5,000 or less must be not for profit and have a project that meets the following criteria:
- The project takes place or the applicant primarily serves people in Edina, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Hopkins, Minneapolis, Minnetonka or St. Louis Park,
- The funds are for tangible goods, equipment, skill development or training and not for operating funds or consumable items.
- The funds will benefit many versus a few.
- The applicant has a demonstrated need for funding.
- The project serves the disabled or disadvantaged; promotes diversity, equity and inclusion in the community; supports education; safeguards basic needs or serves youth.
After a grant application is submitted, it is assigned to a member of the committee for review. The committee makes recommendations to the Foundation’s Board of Directors, which makes the final decision on all awards. Awards are expected to be made in early 2025.
