Edina Rotaract Roundtable: 2022-2023 Strategy SessionTuesday, July 26th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Commercial Furniture Services 4301 Highway 7, St. Louis Park (across highway 7 from Yum in the blue building)
Hello Rotaractors! We're excited to host a strategy roundtable session with our members to set our club up for success this year and for many years to come. This is a very important meeting, and our goal is 100% attendance. Our club has created an incredible impact in our community and offered some amazing friendships, but we're ready to grow and expand. Here are some things under consideration:
- Dues installation: most Rotaract clubs have dues, which go towards club administrative and operational costs. Dues can add a lot of value and legitimacy to membership.
- 501c4 filing: some clubs opt to become a certified 501c4 nonprofit organization. This allows clubs to offer tax deduction to donors, adds credibility to the club in fundraising efforts, and offers a unique experience to members to serve in leadership roles within a certified structure.
- Board leadership structure: as we continue to grow, we may want to consider alternative options for our board of director leadership structure. We will want to formalize this before we experience membership growth. We will also want to discuss ways to create a leadership pipeline to ensure the longevity of our club.
- Membership recruitment, retention and engagement: we have an incredible opportunity to grow our membership, and therefore our community impact and network. We'd like to address ways to make membership really valuable to our current members, and a better process we could follow in recruiting members.
- Signature project: we have traditionally executed one-off projects, or projects in partnership with other organizations. Many Rotaract clubs execute larger-scale projects that sometimes become annual events. This is a great way to amplify our impact, and should be driven by the passions of our members.
- Top needs: what are the top needs you see for our club? We'd like to open the table up to ideas, questions, and recommendations from all of our members. What drives you? What would create an amazing Rotaract experience for you?
Clare Richards, our District Rotaract Chair, and Lacey Solheid, our Rotaract Assistant Governor, will be present to facilitate this strategy session. They will help guide the conversation and document some of our key insights.
