2019 Annual Gala
Thank you for supporting this year's Edina Rotary Foundation Fundraiser & Gala on Saturday, October 5 at the Doubletree by Hilton Bloomington!  It was a huge success because of members like you!  All the money raised goes to our Foundation, the Edina Rotary Foundation, and supports all our local and international service projects and grants.

Club Headlines
During our December 12, 2019 meeting, members of the Rotary Club of Edina will have the opportunity to vote to elect five new member board elections for Rotary year 2020-2021.  Board positions to be voted on will be for board club secretary; community service-local projects director; international service director; membership director; and, social director. Did you know? Through our club website you can read our Club ByLaws and review recent club and foundation board minutes via "Member" log in and going to the "Organization" to "Documents" tab. There you'll find folders name "Club Board Minutes", "Foundation Board Minutes" and "Club ByLaws".
Our December 12th meeting is holiday themed and family centered. Your family, children and grandchildren are welcomed to join us as we begin our Rotary holiday celebration season. Santa Claus will arrive at 11:45 am for pictures followed by lunch including kid-friendly menu options. There will be some very brief business details conducted and the program will be entertainment instead of a speaker. Under the direction of Jim Hawthorne, we will enjoy the beautiful voices of the Normandale French Immersion Choir made up of 4th and 5th graders. Our meeting will end with a reading of "Twas The Night Before Christmas".

Member meal cost is paid for with your quarterly dues. Adult guest cost is $20 per person and children cost $12 each.  Registration has closed for this event. There may be very limited seating available, please contact Becci Michalski or Josh Sprauge to check seat and meal availability.  We look forward to seeing you there.
The Rotary Club of Edina is once again collecting holiday gifts for families in need in our community. Rotarian Jean Morrison is spearheading the Holiday Giving Program, which will be donating to CornerStone and 66 West again this year. Members are asked to bring UNWRAPPED gifts and gift cards for children of any age (infant all the way through teens) as well as gifts for moms, dads, and families served by CornerStone. This year, gift cards to Macy's, Marshalls, Target, Famous Footwear, Torrid were also requested for the residents at 66 West to buy clothing for job interviews. The donations can be dropped off at the Edina Country Club on Thursday's December 12 and 19. Cash or check donations are also welcome. Jean will take the funds donated and buy gift cards or other gifts to be donated as well.
As your TRF (The Rotary Foundation) Director, I want to inspire you to participate in our TRF campaign.  Our goal is 100% participation.  So, everyone of us counts! Please give within your means.  You should know that we are one of the top districts and clubs in the world in our long time giving and participation in TRF. We could be number 1 with just a little help from you. So, let’s make this happen.
Five area high school students won scholarships during Camp Enterprise last month.

Camp Enterprise, organized by the Rotary Club of Edina and Edina-Morningside Rotary Club, provides high school students with a unique opportunity to learn about leadership, business and the free enterprise system.

During the three-day autumn camp Nov. 7-9, presentations were made by business executives and entrepreneurs who shared their experiences with the students and answered questions about a variety of fields and interests. In addition, students participated in a series of customized teambuilding experiences. The students broke into teams and focused a majority of their time at camp on a business case study which culminated in team presentations.

We can't think of a better way to beat the post-holiday gloominess than to join with good friends at one of the Twin Cities' most popular dining venues, Bachelor Farmer. Internationally known for its eco-consciousness Nordic-influenced fare that uses local, organic products, this Rotary event will be the perfect nightcap to your holiday season.

This small group, 20 person, private dining experience is scheduled for Thursday, January 16. Mark your calendar and watch for it to become available for registration near the end of December. For more details about the restaurant please visit: https://thebachelorfarmer.com/about/ or contact Renee Harberts.

This year's Rotary International Convention will be held in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii, June 6 - 10, 2020. The Rotary Club of Edina has established a fund to reimburse the registration fee to a limited number of  Edina club members who will be attending an international convention for the first time. Please click here to enter Rotary International's convention site and review the registration guidelines.  Please keep in mind, our reimbursement fund is limited to the first six members who register, so please check with Sam Thompson or Josh Sprague to confirm funds are still available before making your final convention purchase.
